About New Life Theological Seminary

On January 20, 2002, the historic Whiting Avenue Baptist Church of Charlotte, North Carolina, voted to donate its property and facility to New Life Theological Seminary. The 37,000 square foot facility was built in two phases, the older red brick building in 1952, and the newer brown brick building in 1962. The buildings sit on 2.5 acres of prime urban real estate nestled in the artsy NoDa section of Charlotte. This donation moved the Seminary from outside of the city limits to just two miles from Center City (that’s what our leaders call the Downtown). Students are within minutes of attending a home game of the Bobcats or Panthers, touring the NASCAR Hall of Fame, one of the many museums, and other City Center attractions.

A Renovation Project was completed in October 2007 on the brown brick building. This brought the building into ADA Compliance, took the campus wireless, created clean spacious classrooms, and a library facility worthy of one of the top theological libraries in the State. Maintenance and repairs continue as student enrollment continues to explode, with current plans calling for the demolition of the 1952 red brick building and the erection of a newer modern facility.

We invite you to visit our beautiful campus. For a personalized tour please contact our Director of Admissions, Ms. Constance Hemphill, at 704 334-6882, ext. 115, or via email at chemphill@nlts.edu.  If you would like to actually sit in on a class while it is in session, please contact our Vice President of Academic Affairs, Rev.
